July 2 — Psalm 119:65
You are good to your servant, O LORD , just as you promised.

This verse tells us that the Lord is a good master. He is good to His servants. Psalm 136:1: “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures for ever” (NIV). The psalmist points to the unchanging character of the Lord because His goodness is “just as you promised.” The writer of the book of Hebrews says: “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful” (Hebrews
10:23 NASB). Joshua would agree: “Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the LORD your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed” (Joshua 23:14 NIV).
