July 9 — Psalm 119:147 I am up before dawn crying out. I find hope in your assuring word. The New Living Bible paraphrases our verse for today: “I rise early, before the sun is up; I cry out for help and put my hope in your words.” “Morning by morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; morning by morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation” (Psalm 5:3). It is recorded of Jesus: “And in the early morning, while it was still dark, He arose and went out and departed to a lonely place, and was praying there” (Mark 1:35 NASB).
